Mostar → Kravice Waterfalls
Estimated taxi/transfer price, journey time and how to book.
Kravice Waterfalls on the Trebižat river, about 40 km south of Mostar, are one of Herzegovina's most visited natural sights - a horseshoe of cascades you can swim beneath in summer. There's no public transport to the entrance, so almost everyone comes by car, taxi or organised tour.
What the price covers One-way by taxi ~80–120 KM; round-trip with ~4 h wait ~150–250 KM. Falls entry ~€10.
How to book & pay
Call a local taxi company, use the Moj Taxi app, or pre-book a private transfer (best for airports and long trips). Agree the price before you leave. For inter-city trips the meter is often not used. Bring cash in BAM; card is not guaranteed.
Price shown in BAM with an approximate euro value (fixed rate 1 € = 1.95583 KM).
What the drive is actually like
Kravice is about forty kilometres southwest of Mostar on the river Trebižat, and the last stretch is a side road to a car park above the falls. From there you go down to the water on foot or by a small shuttle — and down means you climb back up at the end of the day.
This is a day-trip fare: agree a fixed price with waiting (usually 2-3 hours at the falls) and the return. In summer set off early - afternoons are hottest and busiest. There's an entrance fee at the falls.
What specifically goes wrong on this route
This is a half-day outing, not a transfer. People stay longer than they meant to because they end up swimming, so the thing to settle in advance is how long the waiting covers and what happens if you overrun. Summer crowds peak between midday and four, which is also when improvising a way back is hardest. Park admission is charged separately and is not part of what you agree with the driver.
Alternatives
- Private transfer, door to door, fixed price, best with luggage or a group.
- Bus, cheapest for longer routes — check bus & train schedules.
- Rental car, flexible for multi-stop day trips.
