Konjic sits on the Neretva halfway between Sarajevo and Mostar, and both the main road and the railway pass through it, so arriving is easy — the town is a scheduled stop on one of the most scenic train rides in the region. The Ottoman stone bridge is in the centre, a couple of minutes from where you get off.
What is not easy is reaching the things people come for. Boračko lake, the rafting camps along the Neretva, and Tito's nuclear bunker at Zagorje are all well outside town, on roads with no useful public transport. That is essentially what the local taxi trade does, and it is heavily seasonal — busy in summer, quiet the rest of the year.
What to sort out before you pay
Arrange the car before you arrive if you have a rafting or bunker booking; do not assume one will be waiting at the station. Fix the return time and place explicitly, because mobile coverage in the canyon is patchy and improvising from down there does not work.
