taxibih.com is an independent guide to taxis in Bosnia & Herzegovina: prices, company phone numbers and airport transfers in one place - in both the local language and English.
Our mission
So that everyone - locals and visitors alike - knows what a ride actually costs and how not to overpay. Taxi pricing is often opaque; we collect it from reliable sources, label it clearly and date it.
The problem we exist to solve is specific to visitors. Bosnia has no national taxi tariff — each city sets its own, some publish it and many do not. A traveller landing at Sarajevo airport has no reference number in their head, is holding an unfamiliar currency, and cannot tell 20 KM from 60 KM as a fair fare. That gap is where overcharging happens. Publishing the reference number closes it.
What we currently cover
These figures are generated from our database every time the site is built, so they cannot drift out of date:
- 43 published cities
- 384 taxi companies with verified dispatch numbers
- 5 cities with a complete, sourced meter tariff
- 16 transfer routes
- 3 airports
For orientation, published city rates run from 1 KM/km in Bihać to 2,30 KM/km in Sarajevo.
Why the English pages are different
The English side of this site is not a translation of the local-language side. A resident of Tuzla needs a phone number and today's rate; a visitor needs to know that Uber does not exist here, that most drivers take cash only, that the convertible mark is pegged to the euro at a fixed rate, and what to do when a driver refuses the meter. Those are different pages answering different questions, so we wrote them separately rather than running the local pages through a translator.
Editorial standards
- Every fact has a source. Tariffs come from operator and association price lists; numbers from official company sites and tourist boards.
- Verification status and date. Each price carries a trust label and a last-checked date. Estimates are clearly marked as estimates.
- No thin pages. We publish a city only once we have enough verified data. More on our method: How we collect & verify prices.
- Privacy. We publish business contacts only - never a driver's private mobile without consent.
What we are not
We are not a taxi company, a booking platform or a broker. We own no vehicles, take no reservations and earn no commission from any company listed here. Placement on a city page cannot be bought. If you need a ride, call the company directly.
How this is funded
The site is free and supported by advertising. Ads are visually separated from editorial content and have no influence on which companies we list, in what order, or on the prices we publish. If we ever add affiliate transfer links, they will be labelled as such.
