What you should actually pay

Most drivers in Bosnia are honest and prices are cheap and regulated. The thing to watch is a specific situation - a car waiting at the arrivals stand with the meter off, or a late-night flat quote - not drivers in general.

If someone quotes a flat 80+ KM with no meter, it's fine to politely decline and call a dispatch company instead.

Insist on the meter before you set off - especially from the airport.
Know the fair range (above) so an inflated flat price is obvious.
Pay in BAM cash. Many cars take no card; if a driver accepts euros, confirm the rate first.

Booking by the Moj Taxi app gives you the driver name, plate and the regulated meter - but the apps often fail for foreigners (foreign cards rejected, “no taxi available”), so always keep a dispatch number as backup.

Call a local taxi company, use the Moj Taxi app, or pre-book a private transfer (best for airports and long trips). Agree the price before you leave. For inter-city trips the meter is often not used. Bring cash in BAM; card is not guaranteed.
